To ensure printing accuracy, please submit your digital art using the IMS pre-press guidelines
 
 

Pre-Press Check List

 

IMS General Printing Requirements:

Allow proper bleed (1/8”).
Define all colors as CMYK, B/W or PMS.
Check the file for proper size, with crop and fold marks.
Place all type and images that do not bleed within 1/8" safety area.

“Collect For Output”/Linked Files

Make sure all linked files are editable.
Include any fonts or scans used in your EPS files.
Submit all scans and logos that are embedded in your design.
Save your file in the most current registered application version.
   
Font Collection
   
Submit all screen and printer fonts used in your digital art files.
Submit the actual stylized typeface from the font menu.
Use and submit only postscript fonts. Truetype fonts do not output to film reliably.

IMS accepts the following linked file formats:

When submitting audio files to IMS, please make sure your media adheres to the following requirements
 
 

Track Listings

 
To ensure project accuracy, please submit a Track Listing form with your audio master identifying the sequence of your tracks including accurate running times and a log listing of all events.
 

Compact Disc (Redbook Standard)

Compact discs submitted as a master should be scratch and dust free
A printed PQ sheet must be provided.

CDR

CD-R's can be regular 74 minute/650 MB or single CD-R size.
CD-R’s submitted as a master should be scratch and dust free
A printed PQ sheet must be provided.

Digital Audio Tape (DAT)

Recorded information can be audio only
44.1 KHz sampling rate (IMS can resample 48 KHz down to 44.1 KHz)
Continual time code
A printed PQ sheet must be provided.
Start and end of each track must be marked with ID (indices).
Recording to be made with "emphasis off"
Music must start only after 20 seconds (best to use new DAT for each mastering job).

Cassette and Vinyl

Client submitted source masters should be equalized and sequenced with the correct amount of leader or blank space between songs (usually 3 to 5 seconds). Please identify sides A & B, time per side, titles, noise reduction used (if any), and any other pertinent information to insure production accuracy. IMS prefers the following source materials: DAT, CD and reel-to-reel 1/4” tape.

 

IMS accepts the following digital file formats:

WAV
MP3
AAC
AIFF 16 bit, minimum 128 KB

Additional formats:

DDP (Digital Data Protocol)
Sony 1610 or 1630 (3/4" U-matic tape
 
 

The Gracenote Media Recognition Service is included in many software applications, such as CD players, MP3 players, CD burners, MP3 encoders, catalogers, and other programs. These applications license the Media Recognition Service to be able to display the artist names, titles, and other information to you.
