To assist with your packaging design submission, IMS has created a collection of audio/visual templates for print production. The packaging templates are available as Mac QuarkXPress 5.0, EPS or PDF formatted files. To obtain a template simply click on the desired packaging option using the navigational bar to the right and download the template (QXD, EPS or PDF) of choice to your hard drive. When opening an Illustrator template in Photoshop, please set the resolution at 300+ pixels/inch in RBG color mode - enabling all Photoshop filters. NOTE: Be careful not to modify any of the guides on the templates or your project could encounter delays and/or additional set-up fees.
 
 

To better understand the IMS packaging templates, please review the following diagram:

Bleed - Margin outside the cut line that allows for tints, images, or other matter to print beyond the edge of the page.

Trim Line - This guide is where the actual paper will be trimmed for final assembly.

Type Safety - Images and text that do not bleed should not be placed beyond this guide or risk being clipped in the trimming process.

SHADED AREA SHOWS ACCEPTABLE PRINT AREA:
• Turn on Guides to see template picture boxes.
• Importing a picture into the circle will crop center hole automatically.
FOR CD/DVD REPLICATION:
• You can use full color (CMYK), PMS or Pantone colors, and b/w artwork.
• Please indicate if you want a white underbase.
FOR CD/DVD DUPLICATION:
• You can use only solid black text or line art.
• Avoid solid black background with text knocked out.
